Thiamethoxam belongs to the neonicotinoid class of insecticides. It acts as a systemic insecticide, which means it is absorbed by the plant and transported to various plant parts, including leaves, stems, and roots.

Insects that feed on the treated plants ingest thiamethoxam, which affects their central nervous system.

Thiamethoxam binds to specific nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in insects, disrupting the normal transmission of nerve impulses. This interference leads to paralysis and eventually the death of the pests.

Lambda-cyhalothrin is a pyrethroid insecticide that acts primarily as a contact and stomach poison. When insects come into contact with or consume surfaces treated with lambda-cyhalothrin, the insecticide affects their nervous systems. It targets the sodium channels in the nerve cells of insects, leading to hyperexcitation of nerve impulses. This overstimulation causes paralysis and the eventual death of the insects.
