Maizegard (Atrazine 50% WP) is a herbicide used to control weeds in maize fields. It stops weeds from growing by interfering with their ability to capture sunlight and produce energy, thus helping maize crops grow without competition from unwanted plants
Maizegard works by inhibiting the growth of plants through disrupting the photosynthesis process, ultimately leading to the suppression of unwanted plant growth. Because it is systemic, it is absorbed by the plant’s roots and leaves and moves upward to areas of new growth. The plant withers and dies. Plants’ older leaves may be more affected than new leaves.
